Officially A Soccer Mom – Ergobaby Omni 360 Review
When Micah was just a wee one in utero, I insisted on getting the Ergobaby carrier. Back then, I didn’t know any other fancy schmancy carriers even existed other than a few that were super cheap at Target, and the Ergo original. We spent the money, got it, and I still recommend it to all of my pregnant friends as the best baby product ever. Ever. (Read about my top baby products HERE)
With each baby, it’s gotten more use, more love, and more crucial to my survival. Hands free to cook, clean, chase toddlers… you get it. That thing has been loved and used and abused for the past 4+ years, but I am so excited I finally got something different – the Ergobaby Omni 360. This baby has enough hand-me downs, and now that my older two are in all sorts of activities, I desperately needed a sturdy, reliable carrier.
I was so excited to test out my Omni 360 in the “real world” (a.k.a. not just around my house during impromptu dance parties – which is also awesome), so I wore it to Micah’s soccer game today. This is like the original Ergo, but with everything you wished the original could do. (Also don’t mind my hair. It’s hard to wrangle kids, take pictures, etc. in Oregon weather.)
Omni 360 Benefits
Your baby can face out, or in.
I wasn’t a fan of some of the other forward facing carriers I have seen on the market, because you could only face out. This one can face out, in, you can wear it on your back, and on your hip. Four awesome positions, that babe will be comfortable in, and it’s easy to switch back and forth! (Perfect for discreetly nursing in public)
You don’t need an awkward infant insert.
This is the worst thing about the Original Ergo because it’s hot, and weird, and I don’t think Elise really liked it to be honest. The Omni 360 is approved for babies 7-33 lbs, so it’s perfect from birth to toddler-hood!
I’m talking about for mama here. The straps cross, in order to give you the best, most snug fit. There is sufficient lumbar support, and it’s cushioned all over. So comfy.
It’s good for the baby’s hips.
My husband is a physical therapist, so we are always thinking about the development of our kids, and how certain products will affect their bodies. All positions keep the baby’s hips in an “M” position, which is healthiest for their hips.
There is also a detachable pouch, so I can carry just what I need when I’m out and about! For the soccer game, all I needed was my phone, the girls’ pacifiers and my keys.
Honestly, I love the Omni 360 and am so glad we get to use it for Elise (and Sophia!) now. If you aren’t sure if this one is right for you still, take this quiz to help you choose! Let me know below which carriers are your favorite and why!
